Frequently asked questions
You connect a site by providing its URL and a WordPress Application Password. To create an Application Password: log into your WordPress admin, go to Users → Profile, scroll to the "Application Passwords" section, and generate a new one. No plugin install required — it's built into WordPress 5.6+. Once connected, PatchPilot will scan your site automatically.
Essentials covers everything you need to keep sites healthy: plugin and theme updates, WordPress core monitoring, and security vulnerability scanning. Premium adds autonomous update execution — PatchPilot actually applies updates automatically, with a staging backup and rollback safety net, rather than just alerting you to do it yourself. Premium is for teams that want true hands-off maintenance.
From your dashboard, click the ↑ Upgrade link in the top nav, or visit the Pricing page. Choose your plan and complete the checkout — your account upgrades instantly. If you run into any issues with billing, email us and we'll sort it out.
PatchPilot (Premium) creates a full backup before applying any update and runs visual regression checks afterward. If anything looks off — broken layout, HTTP errors, or failed checks — it automatically rolls back to the backup. You'll get an alert explaining exactly what happened and what was rolled back. Your live site is never left in a broken state.
You can cancel anytime — no questions, no hoops. Email us at patchpilot-6@polsia.app with "Cancel" in the subject line, or use the contact form above. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. We don't do prorated refunds but we're not going to fight you over it either — just ask.
No. PatchPilot uses WordPress Application Passwords — a scoped credential that you generate specifically for PatchPilot and can revoke at any time from your WordPress admin. Your main admin password is never entered, stored, or transmitted. Application Passwords only have access to what you grant them, and you can delete them instantly if you ever want to disconnect. All credentials are encrypted at rest.
